We are excited to announce that our January online group exhibition, “The Future’s So Bright…”, is being curated by artist and educator Bree Lamb, who for the last five years has been the Managing Editor for Fraction Magazine! To enter, all you need to do is read and respond to the following prompt with your analog photography:

There’s a lot to worry about these days, with no need to run down the long list of problematic scenarios we as a society seem to be headed for. In light of these revelations there exists the idea of taking a positive stance and tone moving forward into the New Year. It’s a choice to stay positive - and hopefully one that would be infectious. At Analog Forever Magazine we wish to promote the “forever” part, now more than ever before. So here’s what we’re going to do - let’s see what everyone’s idea of positivity is as we embrace that concept for 2020. Let’s make it something to look forward to and bring some joy and delight into everyone’s life. What makes your future bright? Images can be literal, conceptual, or metaphorical, as long as they were made with film or historical process.

We invite you to submit up to two photographs for this exhibition that capture the concept of this theme. We offer no limits to the photographs submitted, other than the fact that they are created with analog film or process. The best of these images will be showcased in an online show curated by Bree Lamb! This online exhibition will go live on our website on January 13th, 2020! About the Curator

Bree Lamb is an artist, educator and editor based in New Mexico. She is Assistant Professor of Photography at New Mexico State University, and holds an MFA from the University of New Mexico and a BFA from Pennsylvania State University. She is a Beaumont Newhall/Van Deren Coke Fellow, and is represented by Gallery19 in Chicago. Her work is held in permanent collections at the Colorado Photographic Arts Center, the University of Iowa, Arizona State University and the Southwest Center for Research. Recent artist lectures include Colorado College, The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, The Society for Photographic Education’s West/Southwest Conference and the Las Cruces Museum of Art. For the last five years, Lamb has been the Managing Editor for Fraction Magazine, an online venue for contemporary photography. She has reviewed portfolios at national and international events including Review Santa Fe, Medium Festival of Photography, Mt. Rokko Photography Festival, the Society for Photographic Education National Conference, and Photolucida. Her creative research questions social conventions, with particular focus on the complexities of identity, domesticity, and consumerism. Her work examines our shared desires to identify, connect, and indulge through images, as well as the inherent complications of contemporary vernacular photography.

Submission Guidelines:

Image Specifications:
1) Only .jpg files will be accepted.
2) Images must be 1500px on the shortest side at 72dpi.
3) No photo-shopped borders or watermarks.
4) Only two images may be submitted.
5) Images must be named in the following format: “FirstNameLastName1.jpg”, etc.

Email Specifications:
1) The subject line of your email should state: "Submission: The Future’s So Bright…”
2) Please ATTACH your images to the email. Do not embed them. Do not attach a google drive or dropbox link.
3) Please do not send PDF or Text Files. Please put all information into the body of the email.

Specific information needed for each Submission:
1) Your name as you would like it to appear.
2) The Camera and Process used to create your images.
3) Titles for each of your photograph(s). Write out each title exactly as you would like it to appear.
4) Email Address in the text of the email.
5) The Website Address you would like your images linked to.
