Online Group Exhibition - "Waiting” May 2022

Analog Forever Magazine is pleased to showcase 47 images in this month’s online exhibition, entitled “Waiting,” curated by Amanda Smith and Kevin Tully, the Directors of A Smith Gallery in Johnson City, Texas!

The curators write: The beautiful thing about storytelling, visual or otherwise, is that we simultaneously see or perceive what the teller is attempting to convey, and naturally cannot truly know where the artist’s heart and mind are in the work. That is the true magic of any work of art. The artist is an errant tour guide – he or she leads us into the work and then disappears, leaving us alone with our thoughts and interpretations.

It was very compelling and interesting seeing the wide range of visual interpretations of the theme, “Waiting,” but also, as curators, perplexing and challenging, as it typically is. We, the curators, become interpreters. We pick-up the tour where the artist left off -- simply by placing the work squarely in the context of the theme. However, the journey continues because you, the viewer, cannot truly know our hearts and minds.

We want to thank all the photographers that gave us the opportunity to see their work and Analog Forever for giving our world an excellent and much needed venue for the tour to continue.
