Analog Forever Magazine is proud to present "On The Move," an online group exhibition debuting May 2023. This showcase will be expertly curated by artist, curator, and editor of SHOTS Magazine, Elizabeth Flinsch!

To enter, all you need to do is read and respond to the following prompt with your analog photography. The best of these images will be presentyed in an online show, beginning May 15th, 2023. Good luck!

Prompt:
In this world that seems to out pace itself with each passing day, it is an act of resistance to slow down enough and make an analog photograph. Even within this pause, to point our lens this way or that, we gravitate toward movement. We are fascinated by the impossible beauty of translating movement into a still photograph, and rightly so. These images can be the most powerful and mysterious. Here is an opportunity to showcase the alluring conundrum of stopping time in motion.

Deadline for Submissions is April 30th, 2023!

About the Curator

Elizabeth Flinsch is an artist, curator, and the editor of SHOTS Magazine based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. SHOTS is an independent print journal of black and white photography founded in 1986. Over the past decade, Elizabeth has also led photography workshops, guided artists in designing and publishing photo books, and otherwise sought ways to re-vision her own relationship to photography. Elizabeth’s own artistic roots in traditional printmaking show up in her affinity for alternative photographic processes. She is deeply committed to her vision for the photography landscape as a more equitable realm for woman identified, queer, and BIPOC artists.

Michael Behlen
Michael Behlen is a photography enthusiast from Fresno, CA. He works in finance and spends his free time shooting instant film and seeing live music, usually a combination of the two. He has self- published two Polaroid photobooks--“Searching for Stillness, Vol. 1” and “I Was a Pioneer,” literally a boxed set of his instant film work. He exhibited a variety of his photos at Raizana Teas, a Fresno tea room and health food store; his work there, “Polaroid Prints of Landscapes and Strangers,” was up for viewing during the months of June and July, 2014. He has been published, been interviewed, and been reviewed in a quantity of magazines, from” F-Stop” and “ToneLit” to “The Film Shooter’s Collective.” He loves the magic sensuality of instant film: its saturated, surreal colors; the unpredictability of the medium; it’s addictive qualities as you watch it develop. Behlen is the founder and Publisher of “Pryme Magazine.” You can see his work here: www.dontshakeitlikeapolaroid.com
