Online Group Exhibition - "Horizons” May 2020

“The Bench” by Adolfo García | Ondu Pinhole 6x6 Pocket Camera + Kodak T-Max 100

Analog Forever Magazine is pleased to showcase 25 images in this month’s online exhibition entitled "Horizons. Curated by the Founder and Executive Director of the SE Center for Photography in Greenville, SC, Michael Pannier, these photographs explore the natural scenes of our world and environment that make our hearts beat faster and take our breath away.

Michael Pannier writes: Michael asked for you to submit breathtaking images of heart-stopping vistas, and you did not disappoint. And, as always, sifting through the pile of submissions is never easy. But as I was doing so, sub-genres were appearing, we had mountains, forests, deserts, and seascapes. Some of each made my final selections because I found them exceptional, moving, and thought-provoking.

But this time I found myself especially pulled toward the sea- the shores and the horizons. Perhaps it is a sign of the times as we pass our days in isolation, wondering what is to come as we stare out our windows on whatever vista we have, natural or urban, grand or intimate.

I choose “The Bench” by Adolfo García as my top selection. The empty bench, once home to sightseers, lovers, book readers, daydreamers. Now beckoning the vastness of the sea and the unknown beyond the horizon as we imagine what tomorrow, next month, or next year might bring. Someday, someone will once again find this bench and settle in to remember the recent past and speculate on the new future.
