CLOSED | Call for Entry: Online Group Exhibition - "Street Scenes/Streets, Seen" July 2023

Analog Forever Magazine is proud to present “Street Scenes/Streets, Seen," an online group exhibition debuting July 2023. This showcase will be expertly curated by fine art photographer and writer and curator for Analog Forever, Niniane Kelley!

To enter, all you need to do is read and respond to the prompt provided with your film or analog photography. The best of these images will be presented in an online show, launching July 17th, 2023. Good luck!

Prompt:
At its most basic level, street photography captures everyday moments of how we exist in the world and in the spaces we have created. Whether inhabited or vacant, these spaces reflect the culture and society that utilize them. When photographing in the public sphere, surrounded by the anonymous to-and-fro of humanity in motion, the photographer is perhaps at their most voyeuristic, observing and capturing the fleeting moments playing out around them. Street photography can depict the frenetic speed of modern life or the alienation of solitude, sensibilities from the humorous to the heartbreaking, all facets of humankind are on display to the acute observer.

The best street photography also reflects the personality and viewpoint of the photographer, what they respond to, what they are drawn to, how they see the world around them. When you venture out onto the streets, what is it that you see?

Deadline for Submissions is June 30th, 2023!

Michael Behlen is a photography enthusiast from Fresno, CA. He works in finance and spends his free time shooting instant film and seeing live music, usually a combination of the two. He has self- published two Polaroid photobooks--“Searching for Stillness, Vol. 1” and “I Was a Pioneer,” literally a boxed set of his instant film work. He exhibited a variety of his photos at Raizana Teas, a Fresno tea room and health food store; his work there, “Polaroid Prints of Landscapes and Strangers,” was up for viewing during the months of June and July, 2014. He has been published, been interviewed, and been reviewed in a quantity of magazines, from” F-Stop” and “ToneLit” to “The Film Shooter’s Collective.” He loves the magic sensuality of instant film: its saturated, surreal colors; the unpredictability of the medium; it’s addictive qualities as you watch it develop.
