In January 2020, Barcelona will be a meeting point for all the people interested in photographic experimentation via the International Festival on Experimental Photography 2020!
For three days, people from all over the world will share their stories and experiences within the framework of the Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya, with the aim of creating spaces for dialogue to learn and create a community.
Many of the confirmed participants know the work of each other via various social networks but they have never met each other in person. Laura Ligari and Pablo Giori, directors of the festival, state that there will be three intense days to share technical knowledge, to generate spaces for international collaboration and to meet photographers from around the world who make similar, or very different things.
This jam packed weekend will have workshops, exhibitions, city tours, debates, talks, and panels with your favorite names in the analog film community! What makes this event so special is that it is limited to just 80 participants, which means this event will be intimate!
Among the confirmed international artists who will participate in the festival are:
Raul Rodrigo Diaz, who will come from Paris to present an experimental workshop on Polaroid; Diego López Calvín, who will come from Madrid to celebrate the 20 years of Solarigraphy; Michael Behlen, who comes from San Francisco to talk about the success of Analog Forever Magazine; Steve Lovegrove, who comes from Australia to show his experimental photographs made with ancient techniques, Douglas Nicolson and Guy Paterson, who come from London to explain what a collective project of an experimental analog laboratory is. In addition, other guests will come to explain their work: curators Maria Rojas (Madrid) and Aida Navajas (Argentina); the film souper Carlos Baselga (Vila-Real); the founder of Double Expo Magazine, Renata Ursu (Rome), among many others!
There is still time to register to take part in this ground breaking new convention: International Festival on Experimental Photography 2020! Registration ends September 15th, 2019! Click here to register!
