"The Magic of Transfiguration" exhibition unites 9 photo artists and a group of students who use the artistic medium of photography in a variety of ways. What they all have in common is the unsmooth visibility of the respective, usually analogue, process of creation. The viewer is transported from the moment before the shutter is released to the birth of each of the images being exhibited.
Through this process of viewing the world, capturing it on a light sensitive paper and film, and finally processing it via a variety of creative methods artist create works of art that are as beautiful as they are unique. The artists’ work shown at this exhibit were captured on double and long exposures, instant pictures, pinhole cameras, rubber prints, collages, over-paintings, print installations on film cassettes and many other methods. Each of their specific strategies allows the viewer to experience the one of a king transformation that each photographer brings to the table. The question "What is the nature of photography?" can be asked anew.
